10 MIDI DRESSES FOR SPRING

Whether you like it or not, the midi dress seems to be everywhere right now. I’m personally a massive fan, as I find them ultra flattering and very forgiving for the most part. With plenty of patterns, shapes and materials to pick from, there really is a midi dress to suit everyone.

To help you pick the perfect dress, I have picked out my favourite 10 dresses to suit every shape. I have ordered a number of these myself, as when I find a style to suit my shape, I go all in.

New Look €39.99 Sizes 6 – 18

I have this dress in another colour from their winter stock and I swear to god it is the most comfortable flattering shape. The waist band nips in perfectly at your waist to make you look nice and small. The material skims any lumps or bumps. Even though this is more high neck than I normally wear, I don’t find it unflattering at all on a larger bust. It has a slip underneath that is shorter than the material on top, so it give a hint of a little something underneath. This would be the perfect dress for a confirmation, communion or even just for the spring / summer.  You can buy it here.

Boohoo €30 Sizes 8 – 16

This one is currently winging it’s way to me at the moment. This faux wrap dress is another one that is great for all shapes and sizes but if you’re a bigger bust or have a few lumps and bumps, this type of dress is going to be your saviour. The deep v will make a bigger bust look smaller and the slits in the skirts will add more movement to the skit. I am going to add a belt like this one to this dress to edge it up a little. Nasty Gal €53 Sizes Small – Large

A lot of dresses around this time are floral print, so this is a nice break away from that. This is a V-neckline, wrap design, tie belt at waist, relaxed, midi silhouette. This is another dress that is perfect for Confirmation. Team it with a light pink heal and you’re set to go. Zara €39.95 Sizes xs – xl

So the model really is doing nothing for this dress but imagine this with a nice ankle boot of heal for summer and this would be a real beauty. I know florals for spring really is ground breaking but this is the type of dress that will take you from the colder weather right through the summer. You can buy it here for €39.95

Boohoo €26 Sizes 8 – 16

This is another dress that I already own. This faux wrap Leopard print is very flattering and on the generous side size wise. I will say, it does need a belt and I have paired it with a belt similar to this. Adding the belt synchs in the waist a little bit more. It is far more flattering on in real life than in the picture here.  It is light weight so can be teamed with a pair of tights and boots for the winter weather or with a pair of heels for the warmer weather that we might eventually get. Na-kd €44.98 Sizes xxs – xl

This is a midi that is a lot more on the dressy side than the others in this post, but as we are heading into wedding season this would be perfect to get you through. A midi length floral embroidery outer skirt with a shorter nude colour skirt underneath and a cold shoulder comes in 7 different colours and ranges in prices from €44.98 – €62.97. Boohoo €24 Sizes 8 – 16

This is another dress that I have in a big Boohoo order which will hopefully land on my doorstep next week. This is a dress that with a cami top could be dressed down for work or bare with a pair of heels for a night out. Available in size 8 -16 it comes in Kaki, Nude and black and is currently on offer for €19. You can buy it here.

ASOS €43 Sizes 4 – 18

This is another dress suitable for confirmations, communions and weddings. This v neck wrap dress with a pleated skirt is another that is suitable for most shapes, as the pleats will skim over lumps and bumps. The loose capped sleeve with make bigger arms appear smaller and the deep v will help reduce the size of a bigger bust. Yet, it is also perfect for a smaller shape too. This is a beautiful soft grey so won’t get a brides goat up if you’re attending a wedding. Littlewoods €130 Sizes 8 – 20

This is another wedding / communion / confirmation offering but this time from V by Very on Littlewoods Ireland. This is a layered crochet dress with eyelets at the waist and near the hem. Pair this with a pair of nude shoes or even something a little more clashing to complete the look. You can buy it here .

Boohoo €24 sizes 8 – 16

This is a much more casual look than any of the rest. This is a great transition dress as you can wear it now with tights and boots. Or when it gets a little bit warm, drop the tights and wear it with a pair of flat embellished ankle boots. I would personally put a belt on this to break up the dress and nip it in at the waist.
